There are those who may wake up one morning and feel like there is just something more out there to live for, there has just gotta be. If this is you and you seem to have woken up and are still endlessly waiting for your dreams to pan out, and the world has added a couple more question marks during your slumber. Then you may learn a thing or two from Augustine.
When desperation seems to be all that you have and time and time again the search comes up empty. Then you will find what you are looking for when you simply cry out to Him who knows what that something more is. Let go of all that you were holding back, give it all away to God, and in Him you will find what you were looking for all along.
This may seem crazy to those who are not searching for something more and don’t breath in more desperation with each breath. But when everything else in life has left you empty, and there are no more things on your list of things to live for, then there is always one more place to look which was there all along. We all are searching for something; it just seems to be human nature. In the end, I hope that you find what truly fills you up.
This song is entitled Something More(Augustine’s Confession) and was inspired by the writings of St. Augustine of Hippo and his book Confessions. Confessions is an autobiographical writing in which Augustine tells of his questioning of life and where it led him. I highly recommend reading this classic book.
I actually had no idea that this song was about this book until about 10 years after I bought the CD and when I was half way through the book while in my philosophy of religion class.
