Living With Yourself
In starting to write about this topic of starting over, changing our actions, and becoming better versions of ourselves. I came to a little bit of an epiphany about us. Rather, those who want to become better or are looking to change something in their lives. Which I hope is all of us. And this is the conclusion I came to: We know.
We Know
Let me expound a little. We know that if we want to get in better physical shape that it doesn’t include more TV and fast food. We know this.
For those wanting to learn an instrument or write a book. We know that neither of those happen when you continue to put off writing the first words or leave the oboe in the closet (I thought the oboe should get some instrument love).
We know that bad habits continue to stay habits when we refuse to stop them. These are not issues brought on by the lack of knowledge, but rather when we let ourselves hang on to a false sense of ignorance.
We have settled for reaching the goals in our mind rather than in reality. We love the person we can become and have settled for an adultery within ourselves.
We are an informed society. We are not struggling to understand, but rather struggling to execute. To put it plainly, we don’t simply do it. We lack the drive and focus to change.
So…
So I could write this post and use the catchy titles and topics I came up, like Out with the old in with the “Anew”, or In not bending we break, but we don’t need this anymore. Rather than talking about how change is what we must choose if we want the rewards we seek in life, and how new thought and new action must go hand in hand. I pulled an audible and changed it up. We live in a time where it is no longer information we need, but initiative. You don’t need all that, you already know.
So, with all of the cards on the table, are you going to do something about it? Life doesn’t take the excuses you are giving, only you do.
